they had rigged their own calculators. If we hadn't had our own calculator we may have believed them.
Also just say you had no calculator but had worked out in your head approximately what you should get back. Eg. idr 4,193,541.00 for au $600.
Their final figure was kind of confusing to the eye so you might doubt yourself and accept their calculation. Their calculator might show it as idr 4,103,541.93
They ended up giving us the extra money they'd short changed us without argument or even bothering to re-check their calculation on their calculator ;)
