Most people on this forum will agree that Bali is a fantastic place. There is heaps to do, depends what you are interested in. If you like surfing and water sports, you will never be bored. What part of Bali would you be interested in staying? Your experience would also depend on where you stayed. Kuta, Legian and Seminyak are the main tourist centres, and are very Westernized with shopping centres, restaurants and nightclubs, while other places are more cultural. So I guess it depends what you're looking for.
The weather is tropical, with April to October being dry season, and November to April is wet season. It is always hot, but the wet season is more humid and there are more overcast days with rain, but even in the wet season it may only fain for an hour of the day and a large part of the day may be sunny.
As for work, this would probably be hard, unless you are a teacher. It is very hard for Westerners to work in Bali, keep in mind this is a third world country and the large majority of jobs here are tourism related, and with tourism down at the moment, most of the locals are doing it tough and many have lost jobs. Most expats are teachers or have their own businesses.
But Bali is a wonderful place for a holiday and I think as a young person you would have a fantastic time, and meet a lot of great, interesting people. I would say go for it, even though you may not be able to work, you can live extremely cheaply. You can find really cheap accommodation pretty much all over Bali and food is unbelievably cheap. I have spent less than $5 a day on food in Indonesia.
Good luck
