Can recommend the Tjampuan Hotel, Ubud. It is Balinese owned and rooms have a wooden "feel". Hotel is built on the side of the ravine above the river. You look out into a forest which will give you a contrast to the rice fields. Type in Tjampuhan Hotel Ubud into your search engine for more info.
