Hi Bob, Mary and Sanurite
I'm in Craigmore, so just up the road from you Bob. (Near top of Yorktown Rd to be exact)
I lived in West Java from '91-'92 and did a year of high school there. I also did Indo as a yr 12 subject in '93. Since then though I've done nothing! Went back to Bali last year and was fine with casual conversations. I guess what i speak can be described a "Jakarta Street Slang" !! I never learned how the language is structured. So all the Mem/Men/Kan/Ke preffixes and suffixes, i have no idea how to use. I would like to learn the more formal Bahasa Indonesia at TAFE or somewhere similar, but i also thought it would be great to meet up with people for casual gatherings aswell!
Did anything ever happen with a northern suburbs group? There were some old postings i read, i think i saw a message from you saying that you would be interested back then.
Look forward to hearing from you both - and others!
