list and has been for many years. Only authenticated farmed python is legal and there are no farmed python in Indonesia. I'm 10 years out of date on the subject but at that time virtually all land snakes, including cobras and whip snakes were on the endangered list.

The most common legal snakeskin is water snake, both salt and fresh, but any snakeskin product must have a CITES certificate to make it legal. I have seen water snake product on sale here, but without a certificate, quarantine are perfectly entitled to confiscate.

As a matter of interest farmed alligators in the US are given an individual number which must be authenticated at time of sale.

As the forests go so does the wildlife.
