a large emerald I had bought on ebay (paid AU$650 - valued at AU$7000!!!) to Mayang jewellers in Kuta Square and had it set in 18k gold with a princess cut 'diamond' either side. Mayang charged around AU$450 to do this and it looks fabulous. Also asked them to make a wedding ring to fit with the emerald but this was not a success and I told them that I wouldn't take it. They were o.k. with this.
You can bargain with them also - although don't expect too much off.
