was a little different than a quilt, I brought back those triangle matress pillows and the smell was pretty bad at 1st on sunny days i aired them outside and brought them in at night in my sunroom. Within about 1 week they were fine. May i suggest hanging the quilt each fine day over your clothes line and you will soon notice the smell gone trust me its strong.
I must say i was glad though of the smell as i knew they were fumigated and no bugs would be hiding(they would NOT suvive trust me hahaha)
Have you thought of using the vacum bags for your quilt and tried to reduce the size as you pay on the space not the weight. I packed 1 box it took 3 men in the lobby to put it in the car, (poor things, 1 was hubby helping, not me hahaha) I had that marble fruit and stuff gee that is heavy no wonder the poor seller never sell much of it it is too damn heavy. It is good to not have to worry about the weight, i take home light things and pack my own boxes and make them heavy, hubby kept telling me the ship will sink. ( He did scare me one day and came home from work and told me to read the paper he thinks it was our cargo ship that sunk yesterday, i nearly died when he saw me rush to the paper and told me april fools.I guess i can't complain or get angry i could only laugh as i always april fool my family)
