It makes my blood boil when I see the way some tourists behave. As you said this is not restricted to one natioinality. We all have our share of those we are ashamed of when we travel. People seem to forget they are a guest in someone elses country. Then again I assume these people act in a similar fashion in their own country. Your personality doesn't change depending on where you stand.
Unfortunately I'm not as diplomatic as you. I have 'on occasion' let them have a piece of my mind.
