My Parents stayed at Kuta Beach Beach Club last May and weren't very impressed the rooms were really run down and service was a bit on the poor side, I was in Bali for 3 months earlier this year and it had either closed up or having major reovations!
I would suggest to stay on the other side of town in the Legian area at the All Seasons (new hotel) its great value for money as well as modern and very clean hotel!
