Ayung is a wide deep river, stairs at beginning and end bearable, would prefer to step down then to step up. Did with Sobek, very professional. I did fall out of boat but apart from hitting a rock, I was fine. Dinner at the end, buffet lots of it and nice.

Telaga is a narrower river and was very shallow in comparison, in fact boat got stuck on rocks several times. A few drops and stops on the way. Did with Telaga Rafting, very professional once again, although a few rafts did keep going down and had to be pumped back up.

Not many steps down to start but I think we counted 280 at the end to go back up, my knees ached so much I didn't think I could do it, and for this reason I wouldn't do this river again. But in saying that, if I took my 8 & 10 year old children, I would have to choose this river cause as a mum I though it would be tamer and safer..

Luch also nice a small buffet at the end, but their DVD etc..you can buy of your adventure was so much cheaper than that of Sobek, but hey you don't do it every day...

Rapids also depend on what time of the year you go and how much rain they have had, Ayung we did October 2001 and Telaga we did March 2006.

I hope this helps and as I said is my opinion...
