It's been happening a lot since November.
Just avoid going on the dark, dirt roads with a lot of holes,
since these are the streets that you have to slow down on.
It recently happened to my Dutch girl friend...very tall girl,
on Jalan Dupradi.
The one that leads from Dyana Pura to Oberoi.
They used the knife on her.
An Italian girlfriend was walking by Soho on Jalan Oberoi,
and they literally knocked her down and beat her up, even after they got her purse with passport and plane ticket.
It has also happened a few times around the jail area.
Canggu, Jimbaran and Batu Belique.
These are the ones that I know of.
Just put bags on the front clamp if you have one.
Or lock it under you seat.
Carry a pepper spray if you can.
Be aware if you are being followed.
They travel in 2s.
I've only heard of women who have been mugged.
Drive on main roads when possible.
Again...it's just a word of caution.
We feel so secure here, that sometimes we forget it can happen.
And it has been happening a lot lately.
Mostly at night.
You can do a police report...but that won't resolve anything.
And they'll charge you for it.
