Background me (47) been 5 times, husband (48) been twice, son (15) been twice meeting daughter (17 ¾) who has been working volunteer English teacher in Malaysia & has been to Bali 5 times, 3 times on her own! Flying out of Perth with Garuda on Friday 8.00am, 26th May.
We've booked the taxi to Perth airport, registered with the Dept. of Foreign Affairs (then took no notice of their e-mails saying don't go!), told Centre link (so they know all your business!) sent the dog to the kennel (superior room with deluxe meals!) & checked & confirmed with Garuda our booking.
Staying @ the Dynasty for 8 nights in a disabled friendly room as I'm taking the lady I care for along. Lisa is 43 & was in Bali last November with me (some of you might remember the incident at the pool bar!). This was a holiday planned mainly by my daughter who said this would probably be the last 'family together' holiday we would have! My dad will also be joining us @ the Dynasty, he has already been in Bali since the 20th & travelled to visit the daughter in Malaysia, he'll also be staying on a further 2 weeks to us @ the Sinar Bali Hotel. It's all right if your retired!
Right so I've done the research & cut & copied & pasted all the hints, the list of what we want to do/buy, where we want to visit/eat has got longer & longer (thanks to everyone else's jbr's) & fitting in the relaxing is almost non-existent.....oh well Lisa & I will have to do a girls trip on our own in November...no joking the timeshare is booked! I've e-mailed our driver/friend Nyomen & he's ready for us.
The suitcases are crammed with donations for Nyomen & his family. He gets to pick first then he distributes in his village. I've also got each of the family members a eco-friendly bag each & filled with special things...Mumma has the pretty aprons, caramello koalas & some junk mail reading material, Nyomen has a collection of 'About WA' given away with the Sunday Times & macadamia nuts, the wife Yuli who helps me to care for Lisa whilst we are in Bali has the choc coated macadamias & a display photo frame, the children have freddo frogs, toys, colour pencils & books. Small & not expensive items but will be accepted as though we were giving GOLD. I've also got a small donation for SmudgeUK of medical items some friends have given me to take on over. NO we are not overweight yet.
So if you see us around, come and say hello, we'll be the one's ushered on the plane first due to the wheelchair! Of course we may be the last off, although they tell us that, last year we were first off too!
Did I say we are pretty excited about this trip!
Forgot to say hope to do a jbr on our return.
