Hi everyone , I'm visiting Bali with friends in August , we're flying from Athens , Greece, and the packages we're offered here are quite pricy. You lucky Aussies are a lot closer to Bali than I am!!! Anyway , I'm prepared to pay a high price for the airline ticket , to set my feet in Bali ground again (since I have no luck and SARS isn't around anymore , plus chickens seem to be healthy and no bombs went off recently) , but I'm trying to cut down on hotel rates , or at least get a better deal if possible. I've noticed that people in the forum usually talk about extra nights , room upgrades , tend to book the shortest package and arrange for the extra nights' accommodation by themselves.
So , here are a few questions :
Do you ask for an upgrade at the front desk of the hotel on arrival or you ask your travel agent rep in Bali?
Do you usually ask for extra nights at the hotel you've already booked or search elsewhere?
I'm considering Kuta Paradiso for 10 nights , travel agent's package includes only 5 , and the price I was given from the travel agency , for extra nights , for a double room , including breakfast and taxes , is 92 Euros per night (about 155 Australian $) .
The hotel's web site is offering the same for 77 Euros per night (about 128 Australian $) , and I'm sure I can get a better deal booking through the net , as long as I can find a secure and reliable web site. Any suggestions?
