I dunno if I agree - even budget, moderate & superior are subjective. I've seen so many different postings about the same Hotels & everyone seems to have their own view based on their own experience (no surprises there) but one person's 'moderate' seems to be another person's 'slum'.

A lot of the time it comes down to the individual room that the particular guest was allocated - some are better than others, and what their service experience was like - which can also vary depending on the staff on shift etc.

It's VERY hard to be absolutely definite about a Hotel's 'rating' because even the really fancy ones sometimes have a crappy room, a few bad staff occasionally & that will give somebody a bad experience. The reverse is also true, sometimes the most humble budget place will have very nice room & great staff so you'd rate it higher etc.

You can really only generalise & provide a snapshot of your own experiences, but even that depends on your point of view. What one person would regard as great service, another would expect as a minimum etc.

So good luck trying to make sense of it all! It's part of the fun & charm of the place.... Bali is like a box of chocolates, you never know just what you're going to get hehe....
