Hi,
Hubby & I stayed at Bali Shangrila Beach Club using a time share freebie in April this year - lovely little place but the restaurant is very expensive. Good tho. Email Elaine Lee at reservations and ask for room 15 - the best by far. Eat at the German Bakery on the road to the traditional village. Candi Dasa is sleepy hollow but the Banjar there bans hawkers, so no hassles wandering around other than for transport. If the weather is good diving & fishing are good options.
We are using a time share week at Jimbaran Hills resort from 2 Sept. We have stayed at Garden View twice - altho lots of people love it, we hate it. If you like looking at obese, beer-swilling, smoking, bare-chested, oldish guys while you're eating brekky, then it's for you. The rooms are adequate but overpriced. If you like RSL & Leagues Clubs then you'd like GVC.
For transport to Candi Dasa, we just went with the time-share driver option - it was about 360K for 2 - met us at the airport, easy peasy and well worth it. The driver we had was Antara - a very intelligent & aware man - we also hired a motorcycle thru him.
As for your other accommodation, I think it's best to just pop into hotels as you're passing by & ask prices. Always cheaper if you're not loaded with luggage.
