Being from South Oz, we must not pay as much for surf gear. We recently returned from Bali and found that the Surf Shops generally were WAY overpriced. I can get cheaper prices here on most stuff! One exception was the Billabong 'Sale' that was on at Kuta Galleria...the prices there were genuinely cheap and the gear seems to be good quality [not seconds]. The missus picked up a Billabong 1 piece bathing costume for $15 aussie...same thing at a surf shop in Kuta was nearly $90.00! But you are right...checking out the bargain bins and sales is the way to go!
