If you did you would have a new found respect for the balinese, instead of being annoyed. They have suffered huge losses because of the bombs, sars,etc and still they come up smiling. Remember that you can get on a plane and go home for a bit of navel gazing. The balinese cant, and they still have to turn up to work at the restaurants etc, even though they have suffered losses of friends and relations in the bombings. Maybe we should try walking up and down Kuta beach with a bag of sarongs on our head in the hot sun for a few days to see what it is like and then see if we have reason to complain about the persistance of the hawkers. I doubt if any of us would last a week.
