Hi - Ubud painting are usually cheaper - becuase they specialize and there is so many more to choose from.

You get them Un-framed so you roll them up and bring home. Actully -having them reframed was worth more than the paintings.

You can pick what you like - if you find something - or the artists will paint you an origional if you ask, proberly would be more expensive. I don't really know. Just negotiate a price. If your not happy, with prce just move on to next place. At the Ubud market - there is like 10 different art shops nect door to each other, is good to have a look and check prices and what you are after.

I got an awsome abstract - Bright red, square features, about 1.5m x 1m - I negotiated 200K Rups lat september, I also got a series of three smaller painting, about 30cm x 30 cm similar to large one, they sit on my wall as feature, they look great. The smaller ones cost 150K in total.

Cost me $55.00 to get framed in Australia for the large one :P

I bought in a small shop near the book store in Ubud, one of the main streets up a way from the main bridge. Had an art store over the road and one nextdoor, I think a music instrument shop nextdoor as well.

;P
