My daughter had hers done very capably by women we knew on the beach for 200 000 and it didn't look cheap at all - quite thet contrary actually. They used fine fibres similar to those used for bag straps, were carefully plaited and as securely attached as those glued.
Then again, my daughter didn't want them for months and they were easy to remove.
