You don't have to buy the driver lunch, it depends on how you feel and what kind of service you've had. Alot of Balinese prefer to eat
by themselves in quiet and will probably decline from your offer, others will join you but not be rude and over order, I've found them to be quite shy.
However, if our driver saids no thankyou to joining us, then I give him a little bit of money and tell him to go and have some lunch or to get a drink and we make a meeting place.
