Stayed at Sanur last week in a hotel next door to your one. Yours looked very nice from the beach, but of course we did not see inside the rooms. Only take Australian cash with you. The money changers at Sanur will happily change it into rupiah, but only use the money changers who do not charge commission. There are 2 or 3 money changers in the street, opposite the Sanur Beach Hotel. Walk out of your hotel onto the street, and you will find 2 good eating places, one each side of the street - the Cat and Fiddle Pub and the Trophy Pub. They do not look like "pubs", just open fronted restaurants. Each has musicians playing on different nights of the week and their food is good, especially the Cat and Fiddles "English" dishes such as shepherd's pie, guiness pie, fish an chips, etc. A few doors further along the street there are several other restaurants also. On the beachfront (to the left of your hotel) are about 3 restaurants on the beach, just select the one you like the look of, as they all sell similar food and are good value. The only thing we
don't recommend is Australian wine. For some reason (possibly the heat) we never found a pleasant drinking one on Sanur. Also we regularly say security patrols on the street at Sanur, so you will feel quite safe. Something we wish we had done, but didn't get around to, was hiring a bicycle for about $AUS5 per day. Sanur is flat and a bicycle would be a fun and easy way to explore the area, you can even ride for miles along the beachfront pathway.
