Just back this morning, had a great week over there, great bargains, great weather, felt safe, glad we went and werent put off by the warnings. I must say it was spot the Aus with lots of the rest of the world over there, esp from the Asian region they must not be getting the same trvl warnings as us.
Wished we had spent more time there not enough time to relax by the pool, too busy doing everything else.
Would like to thoughly recommend our driver, as have others in the past his name is Putu let me know if you want his email address. It was so easy I emailed him before we left to organise day trips and with a fast reply, we were set. He charges the average rate and had just picked up a Brand New Van.
Putu is informative, polite and reliable, supplied us with cold water from an esky in the back all day, He continuously stopped and waited for us whenever something along the way took our interest.
We asked Putu to take us to Ubud where we had Nasi Babi Guling(suckling pig with bali spices and rice)at Ibu Oka, yummy and interesting, also the monkey forest, the volcano and various other places on the way.
Putu invited us back to his village to meet his family whom gave us a very warm welcome, our mums both in their 70s hugged when we left it was very touching. Please support Putu as he now has to pay the new van off, he is a lovley guy who just wants to please.
The best part of the trip was the elephant park, watching an elephant playing with delight in a water hole, I'll never forget it it was going under the water and was having so much fun, I think he thought he was a dolphin.
