I went to the Public Library and checked the cameras recommended by Choice magazine. This week, I'm going to look at the Canon Digital IXUS55 at Retravision. It's out special this week for $459(rrp$499).You'd still be eligible for the refund. This week, K-mart has a Canon IXUS iZOOM for $369(rrp$499)-which seems a good buy.
I don't know what the camera prices are like in Bali but I'm buying here so I can use it now and get used to it. Hope this helps-although it doesn't answer your initial question! Jo:)
