Hey Im not against bargaining and yes bali is bargaining paradise but I dont believe all profits go to hotel owners I stay at a small hotel the owner is wealthy and has earned his right to be so!and I HAVE BARGAINED before just like everyone else I have been going to bali for over 25 years and did my share of bargaining but I do believe AT THE MOMENT when things are really tuff in bali do we need to bargain for a few dollars less and I know for a fact that if the hotel owners are down on people staying just because tourists want it cheaper and most hotels in bali are very cheap already, Im not talking Nikosoma here then if profits are down staff will go and I know that for a fact because at my hotel things have been very tuff and staff have had to go and others have had pay cuts!!!Ive seen people come in and bargain for a cheaper room and sure the balinese miss out for not going lower in price because these people go elsewhere theres plenty of vacancies everywhere remember but the real meaning here is whats a few more dollars AT THE MOMENT not next year when things are back to normal(hopefully)what Im trying to get across is it is cheap in bali you cant get those hotel prices anywhere(and the beautiful staff to match)so why call it a sport to be the best haggler around?I didnt mean any disrespect to anyone on the forum who has haggled for cheaper accomodation I just think(if thats okay) that these hard times in bali need extra help whether you feel the hotel owners are profiting well without the hotel owners there will be no hotels for staff to work in.I was actually offered a discount directly from my hotel because numbers were down but Im happy to pay the usual price!!But belive me when things are back to normal Ill be out there haggling too!thanks everyone for there passionate feedbacks and sorry if comments seemed aimed at anyone they werent!
