You would not be wasting your time. The Balinese do feel the cold. I noticed when I have had a couple of my Balinese friends come into my room and the a/c is on, they say it is freezing. I send all sorts of stuff over. I am sure it won't go to waste because everyone has relatives etc. in villages and it gets passed on.
