Single or not airfares are the same.
The extra comes in because package prices are based on twin share.
As you are alone you have to make up the other half of the room cost (as they are costed per room per night not per person)
If you want to do it cheaper then just go airfare alone & organise your own accomm at a budget place once there.
I have travelled alone for the last 3 trips & have compared prices between cheapest package & aitfare only.
Each time airfare alone was marginally cheaper for me (as I use my own accom & am not interested in staying in bigger, moderate class places)
Will also do the same for the next trip in June.
