is mostly popular with the Brits, since the fox hunting debacle! Now, it's all very hush hush because apparently some of the monkeys are considered holy!!!! Can you believe that???

What you need to do is contact Tono who is a guy from Java (of course) he operates a covert tour company known as "Monkey Hunters". He can be found at the beach end of Poppies Lane 2.

Of course you have to go during the night to avoid detection ever since a particularly nasty incident involving a Texan tourist in a Davy Crocket hat. Well I can't say too much about that except he was stuffed and mounted and is now running a very large country.

You can't actually use guns because they do have a tendancy to draw unwanted attention so you will need to bring your own dagger or use one provided by the tour company. Now on the subject of daggers it is not a really good idea to use a ceremonial Keris once again if you are caught this could upset those peski Balinese. Who knows why?

What you do is sneak through the jungle (wearing "you can't see me now" pants and jacket is a great idea") grab a monkey from behind and .... well you get the picture.

Any leather shop will do the stuffing and mounting for you for around Rp.500.000 as a rule but of course with it being quiet currently you may be able to beat them down a bit.

Getting them through the airport can be tricky but if you put a couple of hundred thousant rupiah in the monkey's hand that has been known to get you through. Otherwise you'll have to use a cargo company.

Hope this helps. Might see you at S&S before you go and perhaps a whole bunch of us could go on together?
