We used to different changes near Poppies 1. Both places were only money change shops, not ones tucked in the back of another tshirt or sunglasse shop. Theyre rates were standard, and when we went into change money, they would lay out the 50,000 and 100,000 on the bench and count them out, then let us count them and when we were happy, we always were, we would give then our $50 or $100 dollars. Not once did they try to rip us off, i was really pedantic and would check the money twice theget a friend to check it and it was always fine. I think the changers just need all the business they can get so they were honest in the hope that we would come back and change more money later on. We used these two changers are they were always very happy to see us, and liked to havea chat after we'd excahnged the money. I think if you go to the Money Change places which offer reasonable rates not the places which are always 500Rp higher you are pretty much okay. As i said the ones we used were completely trustworthy and not once tried to rip us off, so i dont think all money changes have it in for us, you just have to be carefull
