Hi Andy Deb. Garlic lane's correct name is JL Saha Dewa and it runs off of JL Melasti about 300 yards from Kuta Beach Road (JL Pantai). I don't know why it is called Garlic Lane tho.
S & S is a beach bar run by Sammy & Suzie (Hence S&S). From my recollection it is about 400 yards from the intersecion of Jl Pantai and Jl Melasti on the beach going towards Legian/Seminyak. Many forumites gather there for drinks, a chat and watch the sunset followed by a meal somewhere.
