Just want to thank everyone very much for all your fast replies. I felt sure i could count on your help and you all came through for me.
I never did see that little dog again, so perhaps she was picked up. ( I doubt any driver would have allowed her in their car for me to take her to the vet. It's hard to explain the growth on her but it was literally huge.)
I have lots of numbers now thanks to you all :)
