Always go to an official changer who offers a receipt. In Sanur the Wartel directly opposite La Teverna is typical. (Dont know about West coast - rarely go there). If you must deal with one of the cowboys take with you a large fierce looking friend (m or f)and have them stand close & watch what is going on - even if they cant count it should discourage the dealer from evoking the "magic hand". cheers Bob B..
