Hi everybody,
We just got back on Friday after 12 beautiful days in paradise, so here goes...
Flew over on Easter Sunday with Garuda, all on time and to plan. Met Smudge at the airport and delivered a load of baby clothes. Was also met at the airport by the barman from Anda Amed Resort who drove us up to Amed.

Stayed at Anda Amed Resort for 4 nights, now do I tell half truths in order to keep this place a secret or do I be honest and give it the rap it deserves. Given the wonderful treatment we got from Kim, Komang and staff, I guess I will have to do the latter.

This place is spectacular, beautiful 180 degree ocean views, perched on the hillside. Sunrise over Lombok and sunset over Gunung Agung - what more could you possibly ask for the ridiculously low rate of $50 USD per night for a bungalow. For three of the four nights that we were there, we were the only ones at the place so the whole pool, bar, everything to ourselves, what a life!!

Kim and Komang could not do enough for us, getting dvds for our son and going to the corner store for powdered milk and juice for him. We were really well looked after and will be returning here - soon I hope!

My husband did one day of diving, he recommends Tulamben Wreck Divers - 2 dives with all gear and a personal guide cost $72 AUD, damn good value. He did the Liberty Wreck Dive and the Drop off, both of which he said were awesome. Great visibility and beautiful diving. We used this company after I send an email enquiry and the WA owner rang me direct that night - figured they deserved the business after that trouble.

Hired a motorbike one day and rode from Amed to Seraya, meeting schoolkids and locals. Amed really is just beautiful, not many tourists and not much to do except relax and meet great people.

Had a balinese banquet and quick cooking class on the last night with Kim and Komang, Kim had the staff do chicken betutu which is deluxe. I have the recipes for a few dishes written down if anyone is interested.

On the last day, we were collected by Nesa, our driver from the house we rented down south and headed back to civilisation. Will do part 2 on Sanur.

Not sure what else to include, hope this is not too boring...
Thanks for reading

Cheers
Alanna
