We went to Bali with all intentions of not coming home. We stayed a year. We have a five and a two year old. I would say if you have heaps of savings just do it. But if not don't. Being a Westerner its very expensive. Visas, nappies, milk, cereal. Medical. Its 6 million a year $900AUS for Medical Insurance at BIMC, includes emergency evac. My children loved it, but they went to local schools. INternational Schools up to $10,000 a year. Just look into everything throughly before you go. Plus you can't live like at tourist, we ate local food etc.
