I did classes in Ubud last year at Casa Luna Cooking school. Run by Janet de Neefe who is the author of Fragrant Rice. Great read with information about Balinese lifestyle and culture, as well as receipes.
The class started with a trip to the local Ubud markets and was very interesting - especially if you are not sure of all the ingredients, and the guide gives you an idea of what you can substitue with if have problems finding ingredients back home.
From memory it was Rp 150,000 for the class but not sure - and it was 18 months ago, so may have changed.
You can also stay there at the Honeymoon Guesthouse as they have lovely accomodation with swimming pool.
