There are (i think) 3 Elephant Parks. We (family of 4) went to Taro Elephant Park which I've read is the best (after reading previous posts on BTF). Yes, you ride an elephant through the 'jungle' and have a buffet lunch - which is nice by the way. Elephants then do a bit of a show, kick balls, hand stands etc. There is a museum which although small is very interesting. We missed out on the bit of riding the elephant into the pool becasue it was getting cleaned - this was a bit disappointing as is suppose to be one of the highlights. Tried 2 roadside travel stalls both initially advertising for US$225, I think, and both gave the same discount to US$190 (couldn't get any lower) which I and my missus thought was still too much and I said as much (they gice you a little survey to complete whilst eating lunch). Nevertheless, speaking to others, and readin on BTF, they reckon it was highlight of their Bali holiday so each to their own - certainly don't let my views put you off. Wouldn't go again at that price. Hope this helps, anyway.
