A remarkable number of my friends like going to Bali too. Most of my friends are ballroom dancers in their 60s and 70s. Unlikely that such people would like Bali? No way, one couple are there three times every year. In our circle of dancers, there are always some there, some planning to go, or some just come back.
One of my sons has a Balinese wife and wouldn't live anywhere else. The whole family knows this of course.
For those who ask me if I feel safe in Bali, I ask them where they would go in the world to have guaranteed safety. For those who pursue the issue, I tell them that I will walk around Bali at night, which is more than I would do in Northbridge, Fremantle or the Rockingham beachfront.
