I have read this forum for many years and have found it invaluable. Originally I planned to walk to Bali from Perth, but having read all the JBR's I decided to fly. After making the decision to fly, my next choice was how; it turned out that the decision was easy, I decided on using a plane. It was a good decision as I arrived in Bali not long after leaving where I was, and I was also told that I would be back where I came from, not long after leaving where I am. Before getting off the plane, the plane had to land, this was accomplished without any discomfort, however I did have to do up the seat belt and sit up straight. On leaving the plane the first thing that hit me was the heat, it was definitely hotter than the plane, and then the smell hit me, (it didn't actually hit me like a punch or anything, but I did wonder what my fellow passengers had to eat).
Accommodation: This is where I stayed (MBR) the room was OK it had what you need bed/shower/toilet plus TV and fridge.
Hotel Bar: This is where I had a Bintang or two, if I wasn't at another place.
Money Change: I did this everyday mostly I changed money into Bintang.
Hotel Swimming Pool: This is what I walked passed when going for a Bintang.
Kintamani Tour: I would have done the Tourist thing but most of the tours only happened when the Bar was open.
Shopping: I shopped mostly at Bamboo Corner, Reunion Club, Bagus Bar and sometimes I went to the market stalls for the usual singlets and shorts.
The Beach: Yes they have a beach.
Freebie: The only thing I got for 'free' was the bus trip at the end.
Just a bit of fun, please don't think I'm having a go at the JBR's posted. I go to Bali twice a year and really enjoy the people and the relaxation (I also enjoy the Bintang). I do read the JBR's, and other comments placed, and find them informative. Cheers
