through the fault of the airline, the airline would put you up in a hotel until the next available flight..it happened to us when we flew from Perth to Bali to Lombok - our flight was delayed ex Perth and so we missed our connecting flight to Lombok, as we couldnt get on the next one (or there wasnt another flight that day) Garuda put us up at the Kuta Paradiso hotel, meals included.
