Five days isn't too long - I'm sure that once you settle into the relaced pace of life on Gili T, you really won't want to leave! There are lots of things to keep you occupied - you can snorkel (and go on snorkelling boat trips), island hop to the other Gilis, go on glass bottom boat trips, go fishing, have a wander round to the other side of the island and through the local village in the centre of the island, or climb the hill to have a wonderful view of the sunset. Not to mention sunbathe, generally relaxing in the many cushioned bars on the shore, and chatting to the very friendly locals! If you dive, it is great here.

I spent two stints on Gili T last year - one of 5 days, an another of 10 (when I learnt to dive) and just didnt want to leave.

On the other hand, Lombok is worth seeing. Sengiggi has nothing of the beauty and tranquility of the Gilis, but is a good base to see the rest of the island from. We did a day trip around the island to see a batik factory, a pottery place, some sasak villages, some temples and a stick fight (really amazing). If you want to do some sight seeing, then go to Lombok, but if you just want to relax in paradise for a few days, stay on Gili T.
