Thanks this should be an interesting post depending on the amount of replies, could be a better option for all of us out here!
First if you are looking at a Goldcard with any bank, building society etc. you will need to have all the requirements that they ask for, even though "they" are begging for you to take their cards if you don't add up to what they want you won't get it.
Saying that I have a flybuys card, no cost, apply at any K-Mart, Myers etc.. Get a Myers Source Mastercard "Gold", annual cost $69.00 linked to Flybuys. Also get a National Bank Gold Visa Card, annual cost about $80.00. Use the Flybuys card wherever you can with your Myers Source card, watch the points add up. When you go to book your flights or package use your Flybuys card and National card, only at Travelworld and JetSet Stores. You get the travel insurance and the points are adding up still. Don't use the Myers Source Master Gold card for flights as they don't give you travel insurance.
