Excuse me for butting in,but had same idea as you. going to take my rose gold chains to Bali to melt and remake. Went to our local jeweller for advice.He told with rose is like trying to rebake cake. And has a big risk of cracking,he advised me not to do. I did not tell him i was going to get this done in Bali. So if yours has sentimental value,might not be worth the risk. Hope this helps.
