Hi,
We were in Bali in September 05 and used XL sim cards. We were able to activate them (including any remaining credit) on our return in April. A surprise to us, but apparently because we had spent more than 200,000 rup in Sept we were able to re-use the card.
Heading back this September, didn't spend 200,000 in April but hope that we are able to reactivate when we return.
I should mention that we did receive calls from customer service asking us to register the phone! We didn't take the option - maybe we should have.
So if you find someone who wants your sim, they shouldn't have any problems reusing it in the not so distant future.
