AQIS (Aust Quarantne) are not interested if you have personally sprayed them with any spray at all. The only way spray them will be considered is, if the goods are fumigated by an AQIS Approved fumigator with a verified fumigation certificate.
What they are looking for is "boarers". Check the timber for any little holes. If they have holes in them do not buy them and look for another one with no holes. If AQIS finds the goods a little doubtful, you can either pay in Australia to be fumigated or surrender the gods to AQIS for distruction. Unfortunately, that is it in a hole. Just be careful of the item you buy and you will be right.
Hope this is helpful, Brad.
