I have purchased some paintings on canvas from Bali. They were rolled and placed in a large plastic cylinder. I was able to put these through with my luggage and had no problems with them. The most expensive part for me was getting them framed back in Australia. Anyway, I am not sure what style of painting you are after and so you may be interested in looking at this website I found.
