In my opinion the new Adelaide Airport is cold and uninviting. It's bland and without warmth. There are mostly white walls with no plants, to break up the cold feeling. When I ask about that, I was told that for every plant provided, one security guard would have to be employed to make sure a bomb was planted in it. Did I look that gullible:-(
My other thought was to have a couple of our excellent South Australian Aboriginal artists, paint murals to break up the starkness. I can imagine where that suggestion finished up.
The only message we are giving our visitors as they arrive in our state is 'Welcome to boring and uninteresting SA'. At lease the old barn had some atmosphere
