we were there in Feb/Mar 2005 and in Jan/Feb 2006. We noticed a big difference in the lack of tourists there this time and it was very quite on the streets. I walked down the middle of the road on Malasti taking a video and there were no cars!! The other things were that lots of restaurants had closed and new ones were in the place of the old ones and there was general renovations going on everywhere, lots of shops had closed. We never really noticed much difference in the cost of taxis as we always paid them more than the meter said. We have been in Feb and June and in June it is quite a bit cooler. We prefere Feb as it is not such a shock to the body coming back into WA in the middle of winter! Have a great holiday
