Here is a copy of my JBR for the Lokha Hotel - which many of you have been unable to find. Hope this is of some help.

Ill start first with The Lokha Hotel JL Padma as this is where we spent our nine nights in Bali.

We had a superior room No. 219 which had twin beds ( Id say Aussie equivalent of two King Size singles) and we had an extra bed added in for my sister at a negotiated cost with breakfast at $22.80 AUS per night. They originally wanted an extra $30 per night. We were up one flight of stairs on the restaurant side - which is 1st Floor ( or 2nd Floor by Bali Terms). No problem with this one set of stairs. The restaurant side has morning sun and afternoon shade.

The Superior rooms for two people low season are around $51 - 57 AUS per night. Not sure what the rate is with a package. Their rack rate is $80 US for a superior. I have seen the internet rate @ $41 US

The room has all toiletries, tea, coffee & jug, fridge, in room safe. The balcony is quite large on the 1st floor but you couldn't swing a cat or fit a table on the top floor balcony's which have the Deluxe Rooms. ( two queen beds ) and contain a small sofa. Believe me that second flight of stairs is a bit much on the legs.

An interesting thing in our Superior room ( which is the standard room ) is there is only a blind separating the bathroom from the beds area. Some what nerve wracking - it was my son who discovered this like a young boy announcing to us as he put his head through the blind 'peek a boo ' hahaha This sent my sister into a scientific flurry of whether if the light was on would we see her in the shower !!! Anyhow she got over that.... and my son would yell out CAMEL if anyone used the toilet - hell were all family !! But if your real prudish there really is no sound privacy.

The super deluxe is on the ground floor and I don't know why you'd spend the extra money for these rooms. The bed sits in the middle of the room (????) Sure you have direct access to the pool - but I think all the hotel would have direct access to you !!! as there is direct vision to your bed and bathroom area behind - look out I think if your blind is not closed. !!

The main problem at the Lokha in my view is the bathrooms flooding and this has been mentioned before on the forum. We put up with it the first few days - but by the end we were fed up - the floor just floods no matter what innovative techniques you come up with to keep the shower water going to just your bath....
My apprentice Building Industry son couldnt help but point out how he could put his finger though our ceiling - with the bathroom above flooding like ours the water dripped down the wardrobe as well. I think there is ongoing problems here.

Compared to the Adhi Dharma Hotel which is less expensive - I didn't get the same rapport with staff at the Lokha. The design of the hotel doesn't make for the close intimacy with reception sealed off in a glass area. The staff are very small in numbers due to the low occupancy - apparently they have more trainees at the busier time.

You really have to chase staff up if you want anything - but you soon learn to order your drink enroute to the pool bar as its not manned. But with low numbers that is understandable. I only had two Bintangs small there during the time the 15,000 Rp was a bit much and they werent that cold.

At 3:30 am I went to get a tea bag for my sister as we had woken up and could not sleep. The kitchen staff ( one of ) had grabbed a couple of dining cushions and a table cloth and was out cold on the Dining floor ZZzzzzzz in front of the TV - Hahahah

I head for reception - all quiet - 'hello- hello - hello ' I shout ...... and nothing so I head for the only apparent living thing... Mr Security at the front of the hotel who was washing the hotel car. Thank goodness I think - security is at least alive.

Mr Security follows me back to the reception and out from the dark executive office comes Mr Reception in a sleep walk ' Sorry sorry ... you want room key ? ' no can I please have a tea bag !!!!! Okay I bring to your room. 5 mins later a humble sachet of coffee arrives at the room. ( ???? ) I said to my sister I am not going back down stairs again to get a
Bl ******y Tea bag.......... !!!!

One thing I can rave about is the breakfast !!! So much food. The help yourself buffet is excellent. They cook an omlette with what ever ingredients you like as well. Most days we had a la carte and they always bring out a bread plate full of fruit. Warning - If you ask for anything it comes in threes.!!! Like a bread roll out comes 3 of them for each person. We soon learnt to be specific - having added an adjoining table to fit all our food on the first non buffet morning - how embarrassing !! Were no pigs we just didn't understand the quantities. Hahaha. The best news is hiding in their fridge is ???? you guest it VEGEMITE. !!

The Spa is expensive at the Lokha and not private. The are so may better options a small walk away from the Hotel. Most services are 60,000 Rp for ½ hr service and I think that is with the staying guest discount. We just took advantage of the 15 Minute free foot massage. They tend to be a bit pushy as well phoning our room with offers of discounts.

I hope this has provided an overview of the hotel for those thinking about staying. In summary I would stay there again at some stage - the location is perfect on JL Padma.
