Just a small progress report on Komang, the small 3 yr old boy Southern Cross Bali Association are bringing to Perth, for surgery to correct his clubbed feet. Merieke has been notified that the passports for Komang, and his parents will be ready to be picked up after Tues. She then hands them over to Smudge, who will bring passports and people to Denpasar to have chest xrays done. (chest xrays for medical visa's can only be done at recognised places, all in Denpasar) He then has to apply for visa's and pay for the tickets. After writing to Garuda, Ive recieved a quote to bring them to Perth. It was $530 per adult and $412 for Komang which includes a two month visa. The quote for me to go and escort them back was $913, I rang Nicky the travel agent, who gave me a price of $1317.00, for Chris and I staying 3 nights at the Etnic. (we pay our own way) We arrive on June 6 and we all come back on the late fight June 9. Im back in work on the Saturday and Komang has his first appointment with the surgeon on the week begining june 12, with surgery set down for week beginning June 19. We now need the services of a few vollunteers who can speak Balinese/Indonesian well enough to translate medical terms from surgeon to Parents. These people have to be on hand at doctors appointments and would suite retired or advanced student type person, and have own transport. Will keep you all up to date as we go along.
