We were there last October. That was the first time I had stayed in Sanur apart from just overnight to get the early boat to Nusa Lembongan. We liked Sanur very much and will certainly stay there again.

Yes, it was quiet, but unfortunately we could probably say that about all of Bali at the moment. But we were never stuck for friendly people to talk with. We met nice people from Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, England and of course Australia. And the locals are friendly and helpful too and not just the ones who are trying to do business.

We like a bit of social life in the evenings, but not the night club scene. Pleasant rock-n-roll and Latin music at Agung and Sue's Watering Hole, also the Trophy Pub and the place next door, maybe Mago, or something like that. And tuesday night at the Cat and Fiddle is a great night out, various musos [including the British consul, who is the owner] and singers and anyone can get up and entertain? if they feel like it.

Anything else, just ask.
