Hey, yeah there are lots of little boutique shops all over the place like ralph lauren, all stars, plus many more. They have continual specials like 50% store wide etc and you can not bargain with them.
75% of Taxi drivers speak very good english. The Balinese taxi drivers are the best, very friendly,honest and know the areas.
If you get a good taxi driver get a card from him and organise him to take you around for the days following. This is what we do and they are very grateful and you can establish a good relationship with them. If you are going short distances like 5 - 20 minutes use the meter, but if you want to use the taxi driver all day and go on tours etc pay them like 100,000 rp or 150,000 or something and you will book them all day.
Most taxi drivers will know all the places if not they radio into head office and get directions. Be confident with them and don't tell them it is your first time to bali otherwise you will pay twice as much.
